Bondi Sands’ New Pure Collection Is The Latest In Clean, Sustainable Sunless Tanning
Australia’s favorite self tanning brand, Bondi Sands, has seen exponential retail and product expansion over the past two years, and that continues with the launch of their Pure collection. Pure is the new transparent and sustainable way to self tan. From the 100% recyclable packaging to the formula that is free of fragrances, dyes, and sulphates, you can trust that Bondi Sand's’ new Pure collection will give you a non-toxic tan without compromising the gorgeous results the brand is known for.
The collection is made up of five products that are all colorless with zero added bronzers, truly odorless, and packed in sleek all-white packaging. Each product develops within six to eight hours, are suitable for all skin tones; and are packed with hyaluronic acid for hydration, vitamin C for radiance, and Vitamin E for rejuvenation. The Pure Self Tan Foaming Water is $27, available in light/medium and dark and is designed to foam as it exits the bottle (similar to a foaming mousse). The Gradual Tanning Lotion is $25 and can be used to build a gradual glow over a three-day period or to top off a current tan. The Self Tanning Drops are $25, can be used on face and body, and when mixed with your go-to moisturizer they’ll deliver a dark tan. The Sleep Mask is a deeply moisturizing, nourishing cream and designed to deliver a deep tan while you sleep. The Tan Bible spoke exclusively with Bondi Sands’ co-founders Blair James and Shaun Wilson who shared the launch of Pure is a major turning point for the brand’s journey to become 100% eco-conscious. According to the founders, the goal was to make sure Pure was as efficient as possible. This was achieved first with the formula which is considered “clean” as each product is made up of 20 ingredients or less, and then through the packaging which is made of post-consumer plastic and 100% recyclable materials. “When we begin the process of creating Pure, we thought a lot about brand and consumer responsibility. Consumers in general are incredibly receptive to recyclable materials and often think they are doing the right thing when they recycle their plastic bottles,” said the duo via e-mail. "That said, most do not know that bottles made from multiple plastics or applicators with a metal spring cannot be recycled and go straight to the landfill – even if consumers ‘recycle’ them appropriately. With that in mind, it’s up to brands to take on the responsibility of thinking holistically about their packaging to ensure the recycling process is as streamlined and simple as possible for the consumer. That’s why Pure is such an important launch for us. It’s just the start of a much larger commitment from Bondi Sands to minimize our eco footprint and do our part to reduce extraneous waste.”
