Tanzee, The Original Sunless Tan Sheet Protector, Just Launched In The U.S.

American sunless-lovers can now say “goodbye” to the days of tanning their sheets every time they tan their bodies (which for a lot of people is every week)! Tanzee, the Australian-based brand and creator of the original sunless tan sheet protector is now available in the U.S. straight from their website TanzeeBeauty.com.. In just a few short years, Tanzee (@tanzeebeauty) has built a cult-like following in the sunless capital of the world, Australia, where sunless tan-lovers have flocked to the brand to get a stylish, smooth, and practical sheet protector to sleep in on tan nights. Gone are the days of sleeping on towels to avoid transferring bronzers on to your beloved bedding.

What’s more? Tanzee Founder Madison Rapa has also added Fairy Dust, a drying powder to Tanzee’s lineup to be used after tanning sessions to really ensure there is zero bronzer transfer on to clothes and sheets. The Tan Bible spoke with Madison over email about her journey with enhancing the tanning experience for sunless-lovers everywhere, the shockwaves that came with Tanzee’s initial launch, and what we all can expect from Tanzee next.

“When we first launched in Australia, the reaction was really crazy. Initially I was nervous to launch, as it was a never done before product, and I was worried that no one would like it,” says Madison. Each sheet protector comes with a built-in pillow case, is made of microfiber art silk, retails around $50, is available in Medium or Large, and comes in three different colorways: black, pink, and silver. “I knew it was something I wanted and needed, but I wasn't sure anyone else would feel the same. I thought maybe it was a bit too ‘out of the box, unusual. Initially for the first week we had so many people just shocked and blown away by seeing a new product they never knew they needed, and then it just took off like crazy, with celebrities and media posting about it and our fan base sky rocketing.”

To properly use the sheet protector, you should slip the Tanzee on top of your sheet, yet under your comforter comforter (so you will be wrapped in the Tanzee while sleeping), fold the protective flap for arms over the top of the comforter, and finally, insert your pillow into the built-in pillow-case. (You can see how to properly use your Tanzee here.) Madison suggests washing your Tanzee thoroughly before use and between each use to avoid buildup. According to founder, most sunless brands will easily wash out of your Tanzee.

When it comes to deciding to launch in the U.S., Madison explains that the American customer base came pretty organically, especially thanks to the rise of self tanner sales in 2020. “We did see a lot of customers come to our site [in 2020], however, we have always had an organic U.S. customer base, even without doing any targeted marketing. So we are really excited to make Tanzee easily available to our U.S. babes.”

As mentioned, Tanzee also has a tan setting powder, Fairy Dust, on offer — which according to Madison will change your life. “Setting powder will change your tanning life, it makes it so much more comfortable and takes away the sticky feeling,” says the founder. “It also allows you to get dressed more quickly and speeds up your routine.” In addition to leaving skin dry and non-stick, it prevents streaking in areas like the elbows and chest, which all tan-lovers know are prone to streaking or blotchy tans.

When it comes to Tanzee’s future plans, Madison shares there are plenty of new products in the works for 2021 and she plans to launch in even more countries. Be sure to follow Tanzee on Instagram (@TanzeeBeauty) for all things sunless-tanning.
