Review: Loving Tan Deluxe Dark Gradual Tan
price: $30 om lovingtan.com.
type: A dark bronze lotion.
product call-outs: Naturally-derived DHA and cruelty-free.
key ingredients: Shea butter to soften; coffee seed extract to boost collagen; pomegranate fruit extract to protect the skin and promote healthy regeneration; and aloe vera to moisturize, soften, and nourish.
texture: A thick lotion.
dry time: Around two minutes.
scent: A faint coconut scent.
(hot) take on the tan: Loving Tan’s Deluxe Gradual Tan works as a great daily, buildable tan or to top off an already-dark tan from say Loving Tan’s Platinum mousse. On a blank canvas of skin, one layer will leave skin one to two shades darker, while two layers will leave skin two to three shades darker, and so on.
I prefer to use Deluxe on top of a four-day-old tan to revive the tan while leaving a soft, streak-free finish. The results? A tan that lasts around eight to nine days post-initial application. As with all Loving Tan tans, the fade is even and non-patchy.
how we applied: Applied just one layer all over the body (excluding the face) right before bed using a tanning mitt, let develop while sleeping (about nine hours), and then rinsed the color guide off in the morning for a tan that revived and glowing.
brand background: Australian-made Loving Tan launched in 2011 and has since gained a loyal cult-following for their range of glamorous, quick-drying formulas.
