Review: Tarte Glow With The Faux

price: $39 on Sephora

type: a lightweight foaming mousse with a dark golden brown color guide

product call-outs: vegan, hypoallergenic, and fragrance-free

key ingredients: Aloe to hydrate and witch hazel to soothe and maintain hydration.

texture: a lightweight foam

dry time: around five minutes

scent: non-scented

(hot) take on the tan: Tarte’s Glow With The Faux is the perfect self tanner to combat sallow skin undertones as the result is a bright, golden tan. It’s truly non-sticky, dries super fast, and doesn’t leave your skin feeling parched as it develops (probably because it’s alcohol-free). The self tanner begin developing within just two hours and at around four hours you’ll see a tan that is around four shades darker than your natural skin shade.

how we applied: Applied two layers all over the body (excluding the face) right before bed, let develop while sleeping (about eight hours), and then rinsed the color guide off in the morning for a bright, golden brown tan.

Tarte Glow With The Faux

A dark, golden brown self tanning foam.

brand background: Tarte is a brand that needs no introduction, but I’ll go ahead and give you the rundown anyway. Known for its colorful, playful esthetic, the cosmetics brand is also cruelty-free, and formulated without parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, and other synthetic ingredients. And while its known for products like its cult-favorite Shape Tape Concealer and bright eyeshadow palettes, you need to get to know the brand’s self tanning range, too.
