(hot) take on the tan: Tanologist’s Extra Dark Self Tan Mousse was the first express solution with a color guide that I ever tried and I loved it — and even now, after trying countless other dark express solutions with bronzers I still love it. It dries relatively quickly so you don’t have to worry about streaking or smearing when you put on your clothes and the color is amazing. The charcoal bronzers will counteract any sallow undertones and leave you with a cool brown tan. Leave on for two hours to be two shades darker, or four or more hours for an ultra dark tan.
How we applied: Swiped two layers all over the body (excluding the face) right before bed, let develop while sleeping (about eight hours), and then rinsed the color guide off in the morning for a cool, dark brown tan.
brand background: Prior to launching Tanologist, founder and beauty influencer Lottie Tomlinson tried just about every self tanner under the sun, but none gave her the clean (application and ingredients), streak-free, odorless, noncomedogenic glow she was looking for. Thus, she took it upon herself to develop Tanologist. The brand launched in 2018 and in less than two years, it’s quickly become a favorite among influencers and beauty-lovers alike.
