(hot) take on the tan: Obsessed. Luna Bronze’s Total Eclipse Dark Self Tanning Mousse really does take your skin on a transformation similar to how the earth goes from light to dark during a solar eclipse. Luna Bronze’s tanner checks all of the essential self tanning boxes — and does so extraordinarily. It has a faint yet fresh scent, dries very quickly, delivers a stunning olive-based color which counteracts any red undertones, is not drying, lasts for about a week, and most importantly (in my humble opinion) it fades very evenly unlike so many other tanners. Phew. My only suggestion would be for Luna Bronze to make professional solutions because I truly believe professional spray tan artists should be able to give their clients the gift of this magical formula.

how we applied: On clean, dry skin swiped three layers of the tanning mousse on each body part. I saved the hands and feet for last and used a lotion as a barrier cream on the palms of my hands, bottoms of my feet, elbows, and ankles. Then, I used a kabuki brush to apply a light layer to the tops of my hands and feet, making sure to get all creases. The tanner is an express solution which will develop within two hours, however, I applied the tanner right before bed and washed off in the morning, ultimately letting it develop around nine hours. My skin was left about three shades darker in a beautiful, natural-looking bronze tone.

brand background: Australian-based Luna Bronze was founded by best friends Maddy and Rhi after Maddy had a scare with facial skin cancer. After years of worshipping the sun, the duo realized that was no longer a safe option, so they set out to find a safe self tanner that wasn’t packed with chemicals. After a long search, they decided the best option was to create their own natural self tanner. So then came Luna Bronze, a self tanning brand with a skincare focus that is now stocked in retailers globally.
