Review: Fake Bake Darker Instant Sunless Spray Tan Solution
brand background: Fake Bake is one of the OG sunless solutions as its founders Joe & Mary Cooper launched the company in 1994 when they saw a gap in the market for a self tanner with a color guide. Since then, the company has grown into a global brand with presence spanning across the U.S. and UK and features over 35 products across the self tanning and professional markets. You can find the self tanning range on the shelves of Ulta in the U.S., while the professional solution is found in hundreds of salons and used on celebrities and in photoshoots for international magazines.

(hot) take on the tan: Fake Bake’s professional spray tan solution in “Darker” is an overnight solution that develops into a golden brown tan that neutralizes blue and grayish undertones. Aside from the golden tan, this solution’s best feature is its color guide that is the perfect shade of bronze without being too overwhelming. The bronzers in dark color guides can often dry out the skin while the tan is developing, however, Fake Bake’s allow you to see where the tan is being applied without being too overpowering.
In addition to the gorgeous bronzer and developed tan, the solution is proven to be easy to blend and streak-free. Gone are the days of harsh lines around wrists, ankles, and feet. I let the solution develop for about eight hours before showering and revealing a tan that was about four shades darker. The tan lasted for about eight days before beginning to fade evenly without any cracking or patchiness.
