(hot) take on the tan: Bondi Sands’ Aero Ultra Dark is one of my favorite self-tanners, so I was excited to try Liquid Gold and I definitely wasn’t disappointed. Just like the Aero Ultra Dark, it absorbs into the skin super fast, is non-sticky, and leaves a gorgeous color. The color guide is very subtle and light so you can apply at any time and wear whenever, wherever and it looks very natural and won’t rub off on clothing or furniture. In comparison to Bondi Sands’ darker formulas, Liquid Gold is on the lighter side, but it’s perfect for those looking for a more subtle tan that dries fast, lasts for about a week, and moisturizes the skin.
how we applied: On the body: on clean, dry skin I pumped a golf ball-sized dollop on the tanning mitt and lathered each limb and body part. One dollop should cover each limb and area. I repeated the application for a second coat and then let the tan develop over eight hours. Skin was left about two shades darker, a medium golden shade of tan .
brand background: Australian-based Bondi Sands has always been ahead of the (American) fake tanning world and they continue to do so with the launch of their Aero collection. The brand is inspired by the familiar beauty of Australia’s most popular beach, and that is translated into their products which give a tan so natural-looking you’ll look (and feel) like you just stepped off the beach.
