Review: Bondi Sands Ultra Dark Self Tanning Foam

price: $24 at Ulta.

type: an aerated mousse with an olive-based color guide

product call-outs: vegan, sulfate-free, cruelty-free

key ingredients: The hydrating tanner is made with a high level of DHA yet is also infused with aloe to offer a super hydrating tan that soothes the skin.

texture: a lightweight foam

dry time: less than 5 minutes

scent: fresh coconut

(hot) take on the tan: Like Bondi Sands’ Ultra Dark Aero Mousse, I can’t recommend Bondi Sands’ Ultra Dark Mousse enough. From the lightweight texture that feels like heaven on the skin, to how quickly the mousse absorbs into the skin leaving it non-sticky and super bronzed. And let me not forget the tan itself — which may be one of the longest lasting tans I’ve tried. Two coats of the mousse will leave your skin four to five shades darker for at least seven days. I look forward to tanning days when I’m using Bondi Sands’ Ultra Dark Mousse.

how we applied: On the body: on clean, dry skin I pumped a ping pong ball-sized dollop on the tanning mitt and lathered each limb and body part. One dollop should cover each limb and area. I repeated the application for a second coat and then let the tan develop over eight hours. Skin is left with a rich, deep, brown tan.

Bondi Sands Ultra Dark Self Tanning Foam

A long-lasting, ultra dark tanning foam.

brand background: Australian-based Bondi Sands has always been ahead of the (American) fake tanning world and they continue to do so with the launch of their Aero collection. The brand is inspired by the familiar beauty of Australia’s most popular beach, and that is translated into their products which give a tan so natural-looking you’ll look (and feel) like you just stepped off the beach.
