Review: South Seas Peta Jane Tanning Mousse

price: $26 at SouthSeasSkincare.com

type: a foaming mousse with a dark brown color guide.

product call-outs: vegan, sulfate-free, and cruelty-free.

key ingredients: The hydrating tanner is made with a high level of DHA and infused with glycerin for hydration.

texture: a lightweight foam

dry time: less than 5 minutes

scent: light floral scent.

(hot) take on the tan: South Seas (@southseasofficial) teamed up with Dancing with the Stars' Peta Jane Murgatroyd to create the highly sought-after self tanner. From the lightweight texture that absorbs into the skin super quickly leaving it non-sticky and bronzed. As for the tan itself, it’s a deep, dark natural-looking brown with a skin finish that is flawless and will have you looking stage-ready, just like Peta. Two coats of the mousse will leave your skin four to five shades darker for at least seven days.

how we applied: On the body: on clean, dry skin I pumped a ping pong ball-sized dollop on the tanning mitt and lathered each limb and body part. One dollop should cover each limb and area. I repeated the application for a second coat and then let the tan develop over eight hours. Skin is left with a rich, deep, brown tan.
