(hot) take on the tan: St. Moriz launched its color correcting self tanning line at Ulta earlier this year making it the first sunless tanning line to do so at the beauty retailer. The collection is made up of three different shades: medium, dark, and ultra dark; all designed to neutralize undertones and create a radiant complexion.
I tried the Ultra Dark self tanner which is designed to add warmth to darker skin tones — and it did just that. After applying two layers and letting the tan develop for around nine hours, my naturally olive skin turned into a warm, chestnut shade.
In comparison to St. Moriz’s Dark Self Tanning Mousse, I found the Ultra Dark color correction mousse to be much more hydrating and long-lasting as the Ultra Dark lasted about a week before beginning to evenly fade.
how we applied: On clean, dry skin I swiped two layers of the tanning mousse on each body part. I saved the hands and feet for last and used a lotion as a barrier cream on the palms of my hands, bottoms of my feet, elbows, and ankles. Then, I used a kabuki brush to apply a light layer to the tops of my hands and feet, making sure to get all creases. I slept in the solution so it developed for about nine hours. The color after the first initial rinse was a beautiful, deep chestnut shade.
