Review: Sugared + Bronzed Bronzing Mousse
price: $39 on Sugared + Bronzed
type: a lightweight mousse with a dark bronze color guide
product call-outs: vegan, hypoallergenic, and fragrance-free
key ingredients: Argan oil to soften and moisturize
texture: a fluffy mousse
dry time: about five minutes
scent: a faint coconut scent
(hot) take on the tan: I never bought into the hype of self tanners having “professional-like finishes” until I tried S+B’s products. Much like the brand’s in-salon tans, the mousse leaves your skin a beautiful shade of bronze with a professional-grade skin finish. Skin is not only tanned, but all imperfections are blurred away. The formula is super buildable yet dries fast, even after applying a few layers.
how we applied: Swiped two layers all over the body (excluding the face) right before bed, let develop while sleeping (about eight hours), and then rinsed the color guide off in the morning for a warm, bronze tan.
brand background: If you live in (or have ever visited) Los Angeles, NYC, or Philadelphia, you’ve likely spotted at least one of Courtney Claghorn’s Sugared + Bronzed locations. The beige and pale blue exteriors and serene, beachy interiors provoke a quick mental vacation right before you walk out of your appointment looking like you’ve been on vacation. The salons include sugar hair removal and airbrush tans under one roof and have recently developed products to take the one-of-a-kind experience home with you.
