(hot) take on the tan: The Shady Sun’s Shady Foam is a true buildable self tanner. The color guide is noticeable but not too dark, so it serves its “guide” purpose. On top of that, how many layers you use is directly correlated to how many shades darker you’ll be, making it perfect for those new to self tanning that want to see where their tan is being applied and still watch its progress as it develops. On top of being full-proof, it leaves a beautiful caramel-toned tan that is deep but natural-looking with a skin finish that is of salon-quality.
how we applied: On clean, dry skin swiped three layers of the tanning mousse on each body part. I saved the hands and feet for last and used a lotion as a barrier cream on the palms of my hands, bottoms of my feet, elbows, and ankles. Then, I used a kabuki brush to apply a light layer to the tops of my hands and feet, making sure to get all creases. Since this is an eight hour tan, I slept in my tan and showered in the morning at the eight hour mark. I applied three layers and my skin was left three shades darker.
