dry time: less than 2 minutes
scent: unscented once applied
(hot) take on the tan: So impressed! I’ll be honest, as an avid self tanner, I was a little apprehensive about trying Tournesol’s towelette for two reasons: 1. I love the depth that mousses, sprays, and drops give and wasn’t sure if a towelette could compete, and 2. I previously had a bad experience with a tanning towelette tanning the palms of my hands and in between my fingers (even after a good hand wash). But let me say, Tournesol’s wipes can definitely compete with the most penetrating sprays and mousses. After one application to my neck, chest, and arms my skin was left about two shades darker with no streaks or mishaps in sight.
What’s more than the tan itself, is how hydrated my skin was left. Thanks to an overwhelming amount of DHA that is found in a lot of dark self tanners, my skin will feel parched while the tanning is developing — not with Tournesol’s wipes. My skin felt and looked great during and after the development time. The best part? The application is so easy and flawless and the wipe itself is soft and feels great on the skin. There’s a slight DHA scent on the wipe itself, but that disappears after the tan is applied to the body.
Final takeaway: those familiar with tanning who don’t love the hassle that comes with liquid tanners and guide colors should opt for these wipes for a healthy-looking, hydrated glow that is super easy to apply.
how we applied: On the neck, arms, and chest, I applied the wipe in long sweeping motions. Skin felt dry in less than two minutes so I was able to get dressed right after applying. I applied in the morning, threw on a tank top (sans bra) and let the tan develop over a 12 hour period. I’m typically someone who will advise applying a tanner at night and showering in the morning so you don’t sweat throughout the day and ultimately mess up your tan. However, since these towels go on clear and light (and claim to be mess-free) I went about my day and rinsed at night and the tan ended up flawless (even though I’m sure I managed to sweat a bit on the rather warm August day). I’ll say it again, it’s amazing how hydrated the skin looks and feels during and after the tan development process.
brand background: Tournesol Beauty’s line of self tanners are paraben-free and made with exclusive AlgoTan technology which is a marine complex that will induce a tan from within by producing melanin within the skin for a natural-looking tan minus the sun damage.
