How did you get started in the spray tanning industry, and what inspired you to open The Contour Collective Co.?
“I actually started spray tanning about 10 years ago with SunFX through Seattle Sun Tan, and I instantly fell in love with it. It started as a side hobby that I genuinely enjoyed, but life happened and I took a step back when I had my children. A few years later, I re-certified and started thinking about what it could look like to turn something I had loved for so long into an actual business. When I trained in body contouring, it gave me the push I needed to finally take the leap and go all in.
What inspired me to build The Contour Collective Co. was the experience I wanted to create for women. I love seeing the instant confidence that comes from a great tan or treatment, but I wanted it to be about more than just the service itself. I wanted every appointment to feel elevated, customized, and personal—never like you’re just the next person on my appointment list. I want my clients to feel comfortable, cared for, and like they’re getting a little time to focus on themselves.
For me, it’s never been about changing who you are. It’s about enhancing what’s already there and giving you that little boost that makes you feel confident in your own skin. I wanted to create a space where women can walk in as themselves and leave feeling like the best version of themselves.”

“The Contour Collective Co. is a boutique spray tanning and body contouring studio in the Puyallup area, specializing in customized treatments designed to enhance your natural beauty.
I offer custom spray tans for everyday wear, bridal, and special events, with each tan carefully tailored to your skin tone, undertone, and desired level of color for a natural, seamless glow. I also offer non-invasive body contouring treatments for the abdomen, thighs, arms, back, back thighs and glutes, as well as the chin and neck. Targeted red light treatments are also available with both spray tanning and body contouring services for an added wellness and treatment benefit.

“What really sets The Contour Collective Co. apart is the combination of customization, service, and the overall experience. Every spray tan is personally customized to each client’s skin tone, undertone, and desired result, and my body contouring treatments are tailored to their individual goals. I also incorporate targeted red light treatments into both services.
I’ve intentionally created my studio to feel different from a typical beauty appointment—dark, moody, elevated, and luxurious, but still warm and comfortable. I want walking through my doors to feel like stepping into an experience, not just checking another appointment off your calendar.
From the custom treatment to the atmosphere and the one-on-one attention, my goal is for every client to feel like the appointment was created specifically for them.”
How do you customize each spray tan to your client's skin tone, desired color, and lifestyle?
“Everything I do starts with the individual client and what they’re actually looking for. For spray tans, I consider their skin tone, undertone, natural tanning ability, occasion, and the color they want to achieve. I also take into account things like what they’ll be wearing, whether it’s for a wedding, photoshoot, vacation, homecoming, or another special event, and even the colors and style of their outfit. From there, I custom blend their solution and recommend the best rinse time and finishing products for their specific needs.
For body contouring, I focus on the areas they want to target and their individual goals, then customize the treatment accordingly. I take the time to talk through expectations and create a plan that makes sense for them rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.”
What spray tan solutions and products do you use, and what do you love about them?
“I’m very intentional about the products and techniques I use. For spray tanning, I primarily work with Glazed Sunless, along with carefully selected additives. I love being able to fine-tune a formula instead of being limited to a single shade, especially when someone wants a specific bronzed, olive, golden, or deeper result.
For body contouring, I use professional, non-invasive techniques designed around each client’s goals and the specific areas we’re working on. I also offer targeted red light treatments with both services.
I’m always continuing my education and testing products and techniques so I can offer my clients the best experience and most customized results possible.”
What occasions do clients typically book spray tans for, and are bridal and special event tans popular in Puyallup?
“My most popular service is custom spray tanning for everyday confidence, vacations, weddings and bridal parties, homecoming, photoshoots, and special events. I also have plenty of clients who just want a beautiful glow for a night out or simply to feel a little more confident in their own skin.”
What's your best advice for getting a natural-looking, long-lasting spray tan?
“My biggest advice? Please exfoliate and shave BEFORE your appointment! And after your tan: moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. Actually follow the aftercare instructions I give you—they really do make all the difference in how your tan develops and fades.
And communicate with me! Tell me what you’re going for, what you’re wearing, what the occasion is, or what you’ve loved (or hated) about past tans. The more I know, the better I can customize your color and make sure you leave loving it.”
